Early identification will often result in a simple procedure with a predictable result.
It is important for all members of the dental team understand the thought process of how to identify recessions and mucogingival defects so that all dental practitioners can help explain to patients the diagnosis and treatment options for the best and most predictable outcomes. Topics Include: Diagnosis of mucogingival problems, When to perform soft tissue graft, Who are the acceptable candidates, What are the treatable defects, What are the available and most predictable techniques, Rational for mucogingival surgery, Indications for mucogingival surgery, Free gingival graft technique, Connective tissue graft technique.
