Course Description

Early detection, accurate diagnosis, the right strategy

Peri-implantitis is one of the leading causes of implant failure. Successful outcomes depend on early detection, accurate diagnosis, and selecting the right treatment strategy. This evidence-based course provides practical protocols to evaluate, treat and maintain implants in health.

Learn how to determine whether a failing implant can be rescued or should be removed and replaced. Emphasis will be placed on implant surface decontamination, regenerative versus resective therapy, soft tissue augmentation, and maintenance protocols that improve long-term outcomes.

Through didactic sessions, case discussions, hands-on surgical training and live surgery, participants will gain techniques that can be immediately implemented in clinical practice.

Educational Objectives

  • 01 Understand the biology of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis
  • 02 Identify risk factors and implement prevention strategies
  • 03 Diagnose peri-implant diseases using clinical and radiographic criteria
  • 04 Determine when an implant should be rescued versus removed and replaced
  • 05 Select and perform regenerative or resective surgical approaches
  • 06 Perform implant surface decontamination effectively
  • 07 Apply soft tissue augmentation to improve outcomes
  • 08 Use lasers as an adjunct in peri-implant therapy
  • 09 Develop maintenance protocols for long-term success
